Working with school boards and higher‑education institutions, Eastern has delivered new builds, additions, and major renovations in active, occupied, and heritage environments.

We coordinate with the owner, consultants, and school administrators to align construction activities with academic calendars and community use. Our disciplined site management and collaborative approach help ensure that new and renewed facilities support students, teaching, and administration’s well‑being from Day One.

Eastern's experience constructing educational facilities spans over 30 years with nearly 40 completed projects valued at over $1 billion across Southern Ontario. This portfolio includes primary, secondary, and post-secondary institutions such as Toronto Metropolitan University University of Toronto, Humber College, Durham College, Ontario Tech University, Branksome Hall, Montcrest School, and University of Toronto Schools.

Our educational work includes some of the most complex vertical campus buildings in the region, such as the Toronto Metropolitan University Daphne Cockwell Health Sciences Complex, Durham College Centre for Collaborative Education, Ontario Tech University Shawenjigewining Hall, the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management, the University of Toronto Daniels Faculty of Architecture, and the University of Toronto Schools Addition & Renovation to name a few.

Many of Eastern's educational projects have been constructed within tight urban settings and vibrant campus environments where the safety of students, staff, and property were of the utmost concern. We understand the unique operational requirements of schools and campuses, including complex phasing to align with academic calendars, separation of construction from students and staff with strict safety and access control measures, coordination of quiet periods during final exams, and management of school events such as graduation ceremonies.

Eastern has successfully delivered projects where facilities remained fully operational during construction, including active daycares, classrooms, laboratories, and student residences.
