Complex Renovation of an Active Cardiac Care Facility
The renovation of the Sunnybrook Schulich Heart Centre consisted of multiple upgrades within five active existing Patient Care Wings.
Upgrades included a number of specialty items such as fit-out of a complex dialysis room, ICU floor with articulating units, Oncology floor including a lead room, cardiac floor, head walls with medical gases, patient lifts and an updated operating HVAC system. All floors received new millwork, electrical upgrades which include code blue and nurse call systems, paint and the latest plumbing upgrades to meet new code requirements. The work was tightly coordinated with surrounding live, operating areas and reflected stringent infection control protocol.
