University of Toronto Instructional Centre Complex

A facility that strengthens teaching capabilities and the student experience.
The Instructional Centre provides additional modernized and technologically advanced facilities for teaching at University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). Features include a 500-seat auditorium, 350-seat auditorium, numerous tiered classrooms ranging from 40 to 150 seats in capacity, seminar rooms, computer labs, study space, food service area, and Technology Resource Centre.
The building consists of one basement level and three levels above grade, incorporating a central feature stair. A concrete structure was utilized with strategic use of post-tensioning. Exterior wall systems consist of a combination of curtainwall and pre-patinated copper plank cladding.
The project achieved LEED Silver Certification and was completed 60-days ahead of schedule.
