RBC Global Technology Infrastructure

Eastern was granted the assignment to reconfigure space, in a number of locations, for RBC Global Technology Infrastructure. The project considered of four components:

• Global Technology and Operations at 330 Front Street ($26M):
  Eastern fit-out nine floors to provide 1,168 seats for GTO, the “engine” of RBC, providing the sales, service, processes and technology that enable delivery of a secure, flexible, reliable and convenient client experience.
• Fraud and Security Group at 310 Front Street ($2.1M):
  A round the clock operation consisting of a dedicated team of specialists employing sophisticated tools to prevent, detect and investigate fraudulent banking activity.
• Queens Quay Innovation Centre at 207 Queens Quay ($1.8M):
  An existing RBC Retail Branch was transformed into an Innovation Lab and bookable open office space.
• RBC Visa Operations at 20 King Street West ($600,000):
  Development of a highly specialized unassailable room to support credit card operations.

Using a design-build approach, Eastern’s scope of work includes installation of new carpet and finishes throughout, new partitions forming new offices and meeting rooms, new washrooms, extensive use of glazing, support areas, and new systems furniture, providing RBC personnel a high quality working environment to maximize productivity in highly regulated, high security environments. Utilizing a collaborative approach to defining and executing the design-build scope, Eastern worked with a number of stakeholders including the RBC Program Manager, RBC Workplace Standards, RBC Corporate Real Estate, RBC Critical Properties, and the Design Team lead by Kasian Architecture.
