Eastern Construction has one of the finest safety records in the Canadian construction industry. The company plays a leading role in the management of the Construction Safety Association of Ontario, the provincial Labour & Management Health & Safety Committee, the Ontario Ministry of Labour Tripartite Regulation Review Committee and many other health and safety committees and trade organizations.

In 1998 and 1994, Eastern Construction achieved a zero accident-frequency rate, compared with industry averages for those years of 16.0 and 18.0 respectively. These exceptional results reflect the hard work, commitment, and dedication to safety issues of everyone in the Eastern organization. Although Eastern’s project manager is ultimately responsible for the company’s job-site safety program, every project is assigned a designated safety manager to monitor day-to-day work practices. On larger projects, this is a full-time position.
