Project Details

The West Don Lands Project is part of the largest urban revitalization project in North America. The project consists of four individual projects; Don River Park & River Square, Mill St. Public Realm & District Energy Pipes, Underpass Park, and the Storm Water Quality Facility. Eastern Construction is also working with Waterfront Toronto to prepare approximately 8.2 hectares on Unwin Avenue for a pilot soil recycling facility which will treat contaminated soils.

Don River Park & River Square is the feature attraction of the West Don Lands area. Consisting of marshlands, boardwalks, a skate park & pavilion, the park will be a welcoming home to over 8,500 athletes during the 2015 Pan Am Games. Adjacent to the park is the new Mill St. Public Realm, an extension of the existing Mill St. from Cherry St. to future Bayview Avenue. The Mill St. project also includes the installation of District Energy pipes to serve the future developments in the West Don Lands area. Underpass Park will be an exciting new community space below the Eastern Ave. / Richmond St. / Adelaide St. overpasses.
